Strabismus
With strabismus, the eyes look in different directions and do not work as a single system. In addition to the external aspect, vision, spatial orientation and self-confidence suffer. It is often combined with amblyopia or double vision.

Treatment
  • Comprehensive:
    • vision correction;
  • Optical correction
    • Glasses or contact lenses
    • They are used if strabismus is associated with nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism.
    • Often the first step is for the eyes to work properly.
  • Forced use of a weak eye (amblyopia in strabismus)
    • Gluing or special stimulation
    • The brain begins to use the eye, which was "turned off"
    • by Hardware methods;
  • Hardware treatment
    • Synoptophore, amblyocore and other devices
    • They train binocular vision and accommodation
    • They are often used in children and adolescents
    • Eye coordination exercises;
  • Functional treatment / Visual therapy
    • Eye coordination exercises
    • Simulators, computer programs
    • The goal: the eyes begin to work together, tension is relieved.
    • Observation
Strabismus is not a problem of the same type. It varies in form, cause, and degree for each patient.:
  1. it may be permanent or manifest only when the eyes are tired
  2. , one eye may be weaker than the other
  3. someone has concomitant amblyopia ("lazy eye")
  4. , someone has nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism.
  5. Because of this, the same treatment method is not suitable for everyone.
  6. When we make a plan for a specific person, the doctor takes into account:
  7. Type of strabismus — latent or explicit, permanent or periodic
  8. Visual acuity of each eye
  9. Binocular vision and stereo vision — how the eyes work together
  10. Eye muscle condition
  11. The patient's age and lifestyle — eye strain, computer work, sports
  • Children with strabismus
    • With active therapy or stimulation: every 1-3 months
    • If the eye is stable, but there are glasses/exercises: every 6 months
  • Teens
    • Active therapy: every 3 months
    • Stable condition: every 6-12 months
  • Adults
    • During conservative therapy or after surgery: once every 6-12 months
    • With progression or strain on vision — more often
The plan is drawn up individually.

Examples of an individual approach

For a child with strabismus and amblyopia, a combination of glasses and stimulation of a weak eye

For a teenager with myopia and strabismus — lenses + visual therapy

For an adult after an injury — exercises + corrective glasses, sometimes surgery)

Results
