"I can't see into the distance" — nearsightedness (myopia)
The complaint "I can't see far away" is most often associated with myopia. In this case, the image is formed in front of the retina — distant objects appear blurred.
Short-sightedness
Normal vision

The disorder can progress gradually: many people get used to "seeing a little worse" for a long time, until their eyesight begins to interfere with driving, studying or working.

Correction and control methods
The method is selected individually, taking into account age, lifestyle and degree of myopia.

Possible options:
• eyeglass correction;
• contact lenses, including special ones for progression control;
• night orthokeratological lenses;
• Hardware and support methods (as indicated).
  • Accommodation simulators
    They are used to relieve focus spasm and train the eye's ability to switch between distance and proximity.
    This is especially true for school and "screen" myopia.
  • Synoptophore
    They are used to relieve focus spasm and train the eye's ability to switch between distance and proximity.
    This is especially true for school and "screen" myopia.
  • Amblyocore (biofeedback)
    Trains the visual cortex of the brain.
    Improves the quality of vision and visual perception, especially in children.
The doctor's task is not only to "give points", but to find a solution that will be effective and comfortable for the patient.
Duration of work
• selection of glasses or lenses — from one visit;
• myopia control programs and OCL lenses require an adjustment period of several weeks.;
• Long-term vision monitoring is necessary for childhood and adolescent myopia.
  • Children and adolescents with myopia
    Monitoring is carried out until the end of eye growth, on average up to 17-18 years.
  • With stable myopia
    — monitoring once every 6 months
  • With progressive myopia
    (growth of myopia ≥ 0.5 diopters per year)
    — monitoring every 3-4 months
  • At the beginning of treatment / change of tactics
    — the first check-up is in 1-3 months,
    then according to an individual schedule
At the consultation, the doctor explains the stages and deadlines for a particular case.

Results

• clear vision in the distance, reducing visual tension;

• Improving the quality of life (driving, school, work);

• in children and adolescents, the progression of myopia slows down or stabilizes.

The dynamics are monitored so that the patient can see the real changes.
