MyOrtho-k  is a new orthokeratology lens design for the control of myopia up to 4.0 D.

A feature of the new design is the controlled (adjustable) clearance of the reverse zone, which allows you to set the value to 60 µm or more even with low myopia values.

The lens is intended for children aged 6-14 years with progressive myopia.

Indications for selection of MyOrtho-k

  1. Progressive nature of myopia.

  2. Myopia from 0.5 diopters to 4.0 diopters.
IMPORTANT: for myopia over 4.0 diopters, the choice of this design is not justified, since there is no need to additionally increase the clearance of the return zone.

  3. Myopic astigmatism (central and peripheral - up to 2.0 diopters).

  4. The age of active progression of myopia is 6-14 years.
IMPORTANT: Children over 14 years of age may require more time for visual adaptation.

  5. Anisometropia < 3.0 diopters.

  6. Motivation of the patient and parents, agreement to adhere to the wearing regimen (use of OKL for at least 8 hours every night).

Key features of MyOrtho-k OCL

The reference zone in MyOrtho-k OKL is the same as in standard lenses, which allows selection according to standard methods using the OkVision OKL diagnostic kit.

The rear optical zone (BOZ) of the lens is spherical and uniform, which does not affect the depth of focus.

The design does not have a direct correlation between optical zone (OZ) width and ride height as in the standard design. This makes it possible to reduce the diameter of the optical zone without reducing RZ clearance, and thereby increase the area of myopic defocus on the retina.

Both spherical and toric support zones are available, similar to the standard design.

The myopia control function in the MyOrtho-k OCL is implemented through the ability to control the clearance of the reverse zone (RZ) and set the value to 60 µm or higher even with minimal refractive error.

Relatively simple selection using the standard method is combined with the possibility of optimization: if necessary, you can change the clearance in RZ and BOZ, increase the Compression Factor (JF), change the width of BOZ.
